As we all know, culture comes in many forms. In the Cultural Rebirth Project, many cultural factors play a part. The end idea is a sustainable fashion hub run by Africans for Africans. A shift is necessary as the African continent has been used as a dumping ground for second-hand fashion and fashion waste. Other aspects are also a big part of the project: a shift in mindset, identity, and taking back power. The consequences of colonization are still affecting many parts of the continent.
I have been invited in as a member of an Advisory Board led by The African Heritage Foundation and Dr. LeeAnn Teal. I will contribute my knowledge and engagement to this project in dynamic exchange with the board members, whom all represent different areas of expertise.
