In the beginning of the year I was contacted by one of Sweden’s most reputable business news magazines – Chef (means boss, not cook…). The magazine had made a survey on the general views of executives on international assignments. Little did we know then that the world would shut down just a few weeks later. That is the reason why I haven’t shared the article here yet. I have, like surely many of you, been hoping for a return to normal before the summer. We know now that “normal” might have a new shape when it eventually returns.
International assignments will surely be part of the future as well, also bearing in mind that there are still many expats scattered around the world, having to deal with some extra dimensions to this pandemic. Such as not being able to visit family, including older relatives, and friends back home.
The article is in Swedish, and I have photocopied the pages as it is a mainly print magazine. If you are an English speaker, don’t hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss Global Mobility Management. There are many policies and routines that need to be in place to assure successful assignments. These are covered in the article. For Swedish readers – enjoy!
